"Get to know us"
In this section you will get to know us and our family. What we do, what our children do along with things we like to do for fun.
Bill and I were married seven years ago in October. We had a small family wedding. We joined Bill's family of three children Patrick, Jordan and Zak and my family of one James.
I was born and raised in Cooks Point. My parents are Edward and Milady Odstrcil. I have three siblings Lydia, Edward and Larry. My parents provided my siblings and myself a great childhood. I have so many fawn memories of growing up.
I went to Cooks Point school until they closed it down when I was in the 6th grade. Cooks Point School had four rooms. First and second were together, third and forth, fifth and sixth, seventh and eight. There were nine children in my grade and I can remember them all to this day. We had recess twice a day. When you got to the third grade and up you would play baseball during recess and at lunch. Because of that, along with learning the sport I am a big baseball fan.
When I went into the sixth grade they closed our school and we went to Caldwell. What a shock that was, thirty classmates in one room and there were four different six grade classes.
I graduated from Caldwell High School and went to work at Texas A&M University. James was born in 1983. I worked for an appliance company for a while, held several other jobs, trying to find what I really wanted to do with my career. In 1992 I had the opportunity to work for a property management company. I enjoyed it so much I decided this is what I want to do. I recieved my real estate brokers license several years later. While working in property management I volunteered for the Bryan College Station Apartment Association. I served as Chairman on numerous committies along with volunteering as a board member. I served on the board until my last year was up, when I became past president.
In the late 80's our community decided to put together a volunteer fire department. I recieved my Emergency Medical Technician license and I volunteered as a firefighter and EMT. I also held the role of training officer for many years. I became the first lady in Burleson County to become Fire Chief. I held that position until 1994.
In 2004, the owner of the company I worked for decided it was time to retire, so Bill and I opened our own company, FossillMeyer. We opened in Bryan and had an office there until 2009 along with an office we opened in Caldwell in 2007. In 2009 we moved the Caldwell office to Cooks Point and in 2010 we closed the Bryan office in order to focus on where we wanted to be and the area we wanted to serve.
Currenly I serve on the Bryan College Station Regional Association of Realtors MLS board. In January I will serve the position of Secretary and Treasure.
Bill and I enjoy cooking, dancing, entertaining, watching baseball and spending time with our families. We enjoy going to the casino's in Louisianna and Las Vegas.
We have four grandchildren and a fifth one on the way. There are three girls and one boy. Audrey is the oldest and she is ten, Lilly is three, Brooke is two and Logan is weeks old.
